不是的，新加坡国花是火凤凰（红宝石)，原因是因为在新加坡出土了一种红色的宝石，这种红色宝石只有新加坡才有，而且颜色非常的鲜艳，这种色彩犹如燃烧着的火焰一样亮丽四射耀眼，所以后来就把它称为“新加波红宝石”，也就是后来的火凤凰，把它定为国花. 至于兰花，只是民间选择的象征意义的花，因为在民间兰花的象征义都是美好，高雅，纯洁的意思，而火的象征却是热烈，奔放，充满活力的意思。
但是国家并没有真正的规定哪一种花是国花还是什么花！ 所以有时候看新加坡政府网站介绍他们国家的象征的时候，发现他们说的象征并不是同一种东西，有时说是火凤，有时说是对号(新加坡的国鸟），还有的时候是斑马。 因为新加坡是一个移民国家，各民族各文化的人都有，所以各种说法就有不同了。

In its centre it has a green， palm frond in a vase surmounted by two crossed swords and a lion’s head on top which bears a crown. Above are three golden arches， symbolising the island's bridges linking all communities together. The national flag consists of three vertical bands representing equality， freedom和 harmony. The band at the hoist side comprises ten equal horizontal stripes in blue yellow and red；the middle strip being yellow to represent peace while the bottom one is red for courage. There is a star on each end of this last stripe.
